WentWest (WSPHN) Welcomes New Senior Director of Strategic Commissioning
WentWest’s CEO, Ray Messom has announced the appointment of Michelle Quinn to the role of Senior Director of Strategic Commissioning.
Michelle has a clinical and operational management background, having started her career as a speech pathologist, working in Australia and the UK. As Head of Service, adult provider services in the London Borough of Hackney, Michelle led a team of 600 across 15 teams. She is highly experienced in direct clinical service delivery across health and social care. Over the last 10 years, Michelle has been focused on delivering patient outcomes through the channel of strategic commissioning.
The UK started its journey into commissioning in the 1990s with a series of progressive reforms which saw Health Authorities, Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) and now Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) engaging with the provider market to commission services for improved patient outcomes. More recently the UK has focused on collaborative commissioning – Michelle brings an in-depth understanding of the approaches and lessons learned in the UK to Western Sydney. With deep experience in health and social care, provider partnership/co-design and commissioning for outcomes, Michelle is well-positioned to work with WentWest to progress our strategic commissioning vision.
“We are thrilled to have Michelle on board. Michelle specialises in translating government policy and evidence into modern, patient-centred services for local communities through transformational commissioning and partnerships.
“She is known for developing collaborative partnerships to share learning and best practice and has worked across a diverse range of social services, developing personalised services for vulnerable people and communities. We are poised as an organisation to lead as the Regional Commissioner in Western Sydney and I look forward to Michelle playing an integral role in our expansion of collaborative commissioning opportunities, the development of key strategic initiatives and the continued development of a robust and innovative commissioning team,” said Mr Messom.
Michelle will commence her role with WentWest in early February 2020.
