Our annual Immunisation Bike Competition launches on Thursday 1 October this year, and offers a fantastic opportunity for general practices to be a part of this nationally acclaimed initiative. Practices are asked to encourage parents to bring in their children on time for vaccinations, even during COVID-19.

Immunisation is a simple, safe and effective way of protecting people against harmful diseases before they come into contact with them. Immunisation not only protects individuals, but also others in the community, by reducing the spread of preventable diseases.

Terms

Every child who receives their 12-month, 18-month or 4 year-old immunisation during the competition period Thursday 1 October 2020 to Wednesday 31 March 2021, will be eligible to go in to the draw to win a bike and helmet. Since it was introduced in 2011, this initiative has seen more than 10,061 children immunised throughout the campaign periods.

Registration

Practices can register today by completing the Expression of Interest Form online. Practices will be supported by our Practice Development Team and receive excellent marketing materials to promote the campaign.

Learning Resource

We will also be holding a Fundamentals of Immunisation event on Thursday 10 September. Guest speakers from the Public Health Unit will talk about the new National Imuunisation Program schedule changes and where to find all the resources.
