We work with and support health professionals in Western Sydney to address the regions’ health priorities.

Supporting Health Professionals

The core of what we do is to help community members access the right care at the right time. As a Primary Health Network, we commission local services and programs to help provide that access with many services available in partnership with health professional consultations.

To support health professionals in their role as primary care providers, we also offer training and education opportunities within Western Sydney and help them access clinical pathways, health resources, referrals, and information on programs and priorities for our commissioned services, partner programs, and government initiatives.

Western Sydney HealthPathways provides relevant, up-to-date clinical information on managing patient medical conditions, as well as referral information for local services. The dedicated HealthPathways team, continually develop new localised pathways and review existing pathways to ensure that they remain safe, accurate and clinically relevant

In addition to supporting health professionals in Western Sydney, we are offering general practice and residential aged care facility staff exclusive access to the Benestar Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to help them maintain and improve their wellbeing. Visit the Benestar EAP webpage for more information.

Collaborative Commissioning

Collaborative Commissioning involves patient centred co-commissioning groups identifying and prioritising local health needs and developing care pathways to improve patient and community outcomes. It aims to address the gaps in patient care and embed local accountability to ensure care is truly integrated for patients.

Collaborative Commissioning is an accelerating initiative in NSW Health’s move to value based health care.
