Live Life Get Active (LLGA) is a non-profit initiative that was developed seven years ago to develop a series of exercise classes to address low levels of physical activity in the community. With so many Australians leading an inactive lifestyle, commuting long distances and spending long days at their desks, they are increasingly at risk of developing heart disease, type 2 diabetes, joint and back pain. Recent statistics show that nearly half of Australians have at least one chronic condition[i].

Exercise not only helps improve physical health and reduce the risk of chronic health conditions, but also has mental health benefits, such as improving sleep quality, increasing socialisation and reducing the symptoms of mild depression and anxiety.

How Can LLGA Classes Benefit Me or my Patients?

The goal for LLGA is to get people moving to improve their fitness levels, become healthier, build up their strength and have fun along the way. Boxing, cross-training and yoga classes are all provided for free in local parks so that people can enjoy exercising in the fresh air. As well as the physical health and wellbeing benefits, many participants report that classes have increased their confidence and helped them to make friends in their community.

WentWest, the Western Sydney Primary Health Network, is proud to be a partner of LLGA, funding classes held in parks across Western Sydney at the following locations:

  • Rouse Hill, Rouse Hill Town Centre
  • Lidcombe, Phillips Park
  • Telopea, Dundas Park
  • Kellyville, Bernie Mullane Reserve
  • Merrylands, Granville Park
  • Parramatta, James Ruse Reserve
  • Toongabbie, Best Road Reserve

Registrations for in-person classes can be made on the Live Life Get Active website.

Who Can Attend LLGA classes?

LLGA outdoor training camps are designed to be welcoming, inclusive experiences to people of all backgrounds. Professional trainers are employed to ensure that the classes are suitable for all ages and fitness levels. LLGA classes are provided for free, as cost is often a reason people don’t join gyms or attend regular fitness classes. There is also no cost to use the equipment used in LLGA classes.

Do LLGA Offer Online Classes?

Live Life Get Active have extended their services to include free online programs such as home workouts and nutritional guides with daily live-streams and on-demand videos.

Class Registration

Health professionals in Western Sydney are not only encouraged to recommend these classes to patients who might benefit from this initiative, but to consider using this service themselves. Local exercise classes can be found at Group Fitness Classes Near Me.
