On Friday 1 December, PenCS announced the 2023 Awards winners at a gala ceremony held at National Institute of Dramatic Art Theatres in Kensington.

Research shows that data-driven improvement is a foundation building block for high performing primary care that guides clinical excellence and improves patient outcomes.

This year’s categories were:

  • ‘Closing the Gap’ Award
  • Quality Improvement Initiative of the Year Award
  • Data-driven Clinical Excellence Award
  • Research in General Practice Award
  • Data Quality Award
  • Patient-centred Care Award
  • Sustainable Business Award
  • GPs Choice – PHN/ACCHO of the Year

The nominees from our Western Sydney region included the following practices and categories:

  • Rosedale Medical Practice – Sustainable Business Award
  • Alpha Medical Centre – Quality Improvement Initiative of the Year Award
  • Lejeune Family Medical Practice – Patient-centred Care Award
  • Toongabbie Medical Practice – Data Quality Award

We would like to congratulate all finalists for this amazing achievement, with a special mention to Rosedale Medical Practice and Alpha Medical Centre for winning awards on the night.

Rosedale Medical Practice won the Sustainable Business Award recognising their contributions to older Australians by utilising health assessments and medication reviews to optimise patient outcomes.

Alpha Medical Centre won the Quality Improvement Initiative of the Year Award with their focus on Cardiology in Community programs to increase early detection of atrial fibrillation and cardiovascular diseases in addition to medication reviews and heart health checks.
