Patient care emerged as the strongest theme across the nominations submitted for WentWest’s newly launched Primary Care Nurses Day recognition program.

Almost 40 nominations were received, with many team members putting forward a colleague for the Nominate a Nurse campaign. A panel selected five outstanding Western Sydney nurses whose submissions closely reflected the program criteria, including their impact, contribution to their workplace, and commitment to their community.

Some recipients were able to attend the Nurse Connect workshop on 4 March, where they received their appreciation gifts — a seasonal fruit basket and a complimentary APNA membership valued at over $300.

Jean, a Registered Nurse at Mt Druitt Medical Centre, was delighted to be recognised.

“I am truly honoured to be recognised as part of WentWest’s Primary Health Care Nurses Day 2026. It means a great deal to know that the work we do in primary care and within the community is valued and acknowledged in this way.”
