The Western Sydney COVID-19 Vaccination Hubs are now opening to all people categorised as 1b under the NSW Health COVID-19 Vaccination roll out plan. People eligible for vaccination under Phase 1b are:

  • Healthcare workers currently employed and not included in Phase 1a
  • Household contacts of quarantine and border workers
  • Critical and high-risk workers who are currently employed
  • Elderly people aged 80 and over
  • Elderly people aged 70 and over
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 50 years and over
  • Adults with an underlying medical condition or significant disability, and their carers*

*These underlying medical conditions are outlined on the Department of Health COVID-19 1b website.

 

The Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) and NSW Health recommend that ALL individuals who can be vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine do so.

WSLHD invite you to notify your patients who meet the 1b criteria that they can book in and receive their COVID-19 vaccine at Western Sydney’s COVID-19 Vaccination Hubs. You and your service’s staff are also able to access the COVID-19 vaccination through Western Sydney’s COVID-19 Vaccination Hubs.

 

Western Sydney COVID-19 Vaccination Hub Information

As per updated advice on the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine released on Thursday 8th April, those eligible aged 50 years and over will be vaccinated at the AstraZeneca Vaccination Hub at Blacktown Hospital. Those 49 years and under will be vaccinated with the Pfizer Vaccination Hub at Westmead Hospital. Please see the information in the table below regarding each vaccination hub.

People can book themselves into the Pfizer COVID-19 Westmead Hospital Vaccination Hub via the eligibility checker.

What to Bring

All people attending the vaccination hubs must bring:

·       A face mask,

·       Photo ID, and

·       Medicare card (where applicable)

 

Information for Carers

Carers need to bring carers documentation or proof of occupation (ID card or letter from employer/centre based support provider).

Where none of these are available, including family members or others who can provide significant care, individuals may complete an Eligibility Declaration Form.
