To mark International Nurses Day, WentWest is celebrating the nurses across Western Sydney who work every day to improve health outcomes in our communities.

As part of WentWest’s commitment to growing the primary care nursing workforce in Western Sydney, we are proud to officially launch Faces of Primary Care Nursing — a campaign that will run throughout 2026 to highlight the vital role nurses play in primary care and community health.

Launched on 12 May, the campaign began by spotlighting members of WentWest’s own nursing workforce whose experience, leadership, and compassion help guide our work. Throughout the year, the campaign will expand to showcase primary care nurses from across Western Sydney, celebrating the impact they make every day in clinics, practices, outreach services, and communities.

Faces of Primary Care Nursing - Jasmine

Our first feature highlights Jasmine Glennan, whose 19-year nursing journey reflects the compassion, dedication, and commitment at the heart of primary care nursing.

For Jasmine, nursing has always been about people. Today, she serves as the Senior Manager of Primary Care Transformation and Integration at WentWest, while continuing her work as a Registered Nurse in General Practice and volunteering with vulnerable communities. No matter the setting, her approach remains grounded in compassion, dignity, and supporting people to stay well through every stage of life.

“I wanted to make a real difference in people’s lives,” Jasmine says. “Everyone needs care at some point, and this is my way of helping make the world a little better, one person at a time.”

“It has been a meaningful journey,” she reflects. “Each step has shaped the way I practise, grounded in compassion, dignity, and supporting people to stay well across every stage of life.”

For Jasmine, one of the most rewarding parts of nursing is being present for people in the moments they need support most. Whether through clinical care, reassurance, or a simple smile, she believes even small acts of kindness can have a lasting impact.

“What I love most about my job is supporting people to stay healthy or caring for them at the moments they need it most,” she says. “Sometimes it’s the smallest gestures that can make the biggest difference.”

Alongside direct patient care, Jasmine is passionate about strengthening health care systems and supporting the future of nursing and primary care. Through her leadership role at WentWest, she contributes to initiatives focused on advancing nursing, strengthening integrated primary care, and building a more connected and equitable health system for Western Sydney communities.

Primary care nursing, she says, holds a special place in her heart because of the continuity and relationships it enables.

“Nursing in primary care is where continuity of care truly happens,” Jasmine explains. “We walk alongside people through every stage of their life. We build therapeutic relationships, support people to stay well, collaborate closely with health care teams, and contribute to long-term wellbeing in a way that has a lasting impact on individuals and communities.”

This commitment to caring for vulnerable communities is also what led Jasmine to volunteer providing health care and support to people experiencing homelessness.

“The most meaningful part of my job is caring for people when they are at their most vulnerable,” she says. “Knowing that someone who needs it most can receive nursing care, kindness, and practical help that genuinely changes their day is incredibly important to me.”

After nearly two decades in nursing, Jasmine’s passion for the profession remains as strong as ever. Her story is a reminder that nursing is not only about clinical care, but also about connection, compassion, advocacy, and the everyday moments that help improve lives — one person at a time.
