2021 has been a year of creativity and innovation as we’ve worked collectively to tackle COVID-19 and continued to progress health reform in Western Sydney. Thank you to all of our health care professionals, partners and community members who have made this year a success.

Our 2020/21 Annual Review, Innovate and Create, celebrates the new technology, collaborative methodologies, and multi-sectoral collaborations we have harnessed to build a healthier Western Sydney. Data and digital tools have propelled our partnership programs to new levels. WentWest played a crucial role in supporting the Department of Health’s National Vaccination Rollout in general practice, residential aged care facilities (RACFS) and Disability Group Homes. We have also continued to provide COVID-19 comms, information webinars and personal protective equipment to frontline health care workers.

We launched the Western Sydney Care Collective, our joint Collaborative Commissioning initiative with the Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) that provide innovative primary care pathways to take the pressure away from Emergency Departments. Another momentous achievement with partners has been the launch of the Western Sydney Kids Early Years (KEYS) Network with our Service Delivery Reform Coalition to align social and health sector agendas to support families with children aged 0-5 years.

As we reflect on all we have achieved during a challenging year, I would like to thank all of our partners, health professionals and consumers living and working in the Western Sydney community for their continued support this year. We know that 2022 will bring us ever closer to our collective vision of one Western Sydney care system which brings quality, equitable health care to everyone.

Wishing you a restful holiday period with your loved ones and community and all the very best for the New Year.

Ray Messom, WentWest CEO
