The KEYS Network brings together a team of Navigators from local health and human service agencies. These Navigators coordinate access and care for providers working with families and young children across Western Sydney and Lithgow, forming part of a whole‑of‑government approach to prevention and early intervention.
The Network acts as the backbone of the funded service system, supporting families and organisations when they struggle to navigate a complex service landscape. Many families face gaps, delays, or barriers when trying to access the right help at the right time. Without coordinated guidance, they can easily fall through these gaps.
Rather than duplicating existing resources, the KEYS Network connects, strengthens, and amplifies them. It builds sector capacity, improves coordination, and enhances the connections between the many organisations that families rely on.
This supports and strengthens the work already being done by service providers by:
- Identifying gaps in support
- Finding appropriate services across health, social care, and education
- Navigating waitlists, eligibility criteria and service capacity
- Coordinating care across multiple systems
- Supporting all members of the family
- Planning for longer-term needs, not just immediate issues
The KEYS Network may also make direct phone contact with a family when appropriate, providing interim guidance and continuity while the most suitable supports are being coordinated.
Today, the KEYS Network supports more than 1,000 service providers across Western Sydney and beyond. These providers span early childhood education, disability, homelessness, domestic and family violence, legal services and health, including allied health, GPs and specialists across community, primary and tertiary settings.
Each provider plays a vital role in supporting vulnerable families. However, families often struggle to access services that fall outside a provider’s immediate area of expertise. The KEYS Network helps bridge these gaps by bringing providers together and strengthening collaboration to improve outcomes for families.
In addition to coordination, the KEYS Network invests in building the capability of the broader service system. Through shared learning, collaboration, and expert navigation, KEYS helps create a more resilient and responsive system for families.
