More than 40 health professionals – including local GPs and service providers – gathered to explore the region’s unique health challenges and opportunities for collaboration. The event featured presentations from experts at the Western Sydney Centre for Population Health, led by Director Michelle Nolan and Public Health Physician Dr Conrad Moriera
Opening Doors: Community Pathways to Family Wellbeing
Passion shone through during the Opening Doors segment, featuring a panel of experts:
- Amanda Warren, Policy and Project Officer, Emerging Minds
- Dr Lisa Newling, WSLHD Perinatal Child Youth Mental Health Service
- Jasmine Glennan, Primary Care Nurse and Senior Manager Primary Care, WentWest
Dr Lisa Newling encouraged attendees to reframe the conversation around mental health:
“We are all aiming for positive mental health, not mental illness. Let us ask our communities what is happening instead of what is wrong. Let us create communities that help our children thrive.”
