Three Aboriginal people hugging, smiling and holding hands

National Reconciliation Week (27 May-3 June 2023) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. The ‘Be a Voice for Generations’ theme encourages all Australians to be a voice for reconciliation in tangible ways in our everyday lives – where we live, work and socialise.

At WentWest, we take a holistic approach to improving the social and health outcomes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in Western Sydney. To achieve this, we work closely with community leaders, the community, health and the social support sector to commission culturally safe, integrated services.

We have developed strong partnerships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders, leaders and community groups that inform much of the work we do. We are proud supporters of services run by and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to address their health needs:

  • Aboriginal Counselling Services
  • Baabayn
  • Marrin Weejali Aboriginal Corporation
  • NSW Aboriginal Knockout Health Challenge
  • Ted Noffs Foundation: Deadly Dreaming
  • The Shed
  • Too Deadly for Diabetes
  • Western Sydney Integrated Team Care Program

By referring Aboriginal patients to these services, you can ensure they’re receiving the right care in a safe way. For more information, please visit our Aboriginal Health webpage.
