Mental Health Month is celebrated each year in October and encourages all of us to think about our mental health and wellbeing, regardless of whether we may have a lived experience of mental illness or not. It also gives us the opportunity to understand the importance of good mental health in our everyday lives and encourages help-seeking behaviours when needed.

With October being Mental Health Month, we are continuing to work closely with partners on projects to support those who may require professional assistance. This year’s theme for Mental Health Month is “Tune In”, encouraging individuals and communities in being present, being aware of what is happening within and in the world around us.

Throughout this month, it is important to maximise awareness of mental health and help those who feel vulnerable by empowering them to seek professional support and create a lasting change.

Anyone who is experiencing mental health challenges should be encouraged to talk to someone for support by calling:

  • Connections Western Sydney Helpline – 1300 096 273
  • Lifeline – 13 11 14
  • Suicide Call Back Service – 1300 659 467
  • Domestic Violence Helpline – 1800 737 732

Among the many services available, we have programs and services we commission that are available on our mental health webpage.

A range of mental health pathways are also available in HealthPathways. To access HealthPathways, you will need the general login details. For more information, please contact our HealthPathways team at healthpathways@wentwest.com.au
