To ensure the highest standards of data security and patient confidentiality, we are changing the way we accept referrals for Primary Mental Health Care services.

What is Changing?

Effective 1 February 2025, Western Sydney Primary Health Network’s Primary Mental Health Care team will be transitioning away from accepting faxed or emailed referrals.

All referrals can be submitted via Best Practice, Medical Director or HealthLink portal. Please view the below flyer for more details.

To help health care providers understand and adapt to this change, we’ve developed the below frequently asked questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Referrals sent via fax will be conditionally approved as we support you in this transition. All fax communication will receive an automated response redirecting you to the HealthLink Referral Pathways.

No. All referrals must be submitted via HealthLink Secure Messaging to ensure the highest standards of data security and patient confidentiality.

To enable us to meet industry data security requirements and ensure streamlined review and processing of PMHC referrals.

The PMHC or WentWest mental health referral form has recently been updated to reflect current program requirements. To access the correct form and remove the outdated forms, your practice management software may require a system update. To update your practice management software, please contact your usual IT provider or software provider – Best Practice on 1300 40 1111 or Medical Director on 1300 300 161.

A HealthLink EDI is the HealthLink messaging address used to identify the Health Care Provider in the HealthLink Directory. Linking the Primary Care Mental Health team to your online directory via the Healthlink EDI will allow your practice to send referrals to our service.

Please enter the following EDI in the HealthLink form:
