Supporting Allied Health Professionals in Western Sydney
As the Western Sydney Primary Health Network (WSPHN), WentWest is focused on addressing both regional and national health challenges. Together with health professionals, partners from both the health and hospital sector and community members, WentWest seeks to identify gaps and commission solutions for better health outcomes. We support primary healthcare providers to deliver high quality patient-centred care and implement models that reflect best practice and enhance multidisciplinary team care.
As part of this, WSPHN is expanding its work with local allied health providers to improve patient care, integration and access to services. We have established a dedicated allied health portfolio within our Primary Care Workforce team to lead this work and ensure comprehensive allied health workforce support in Western Sydney.

Upcoming Changes:

Workforce Incentive Program (WIP) - Practice Stream

- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workers and health practitioners.
The WIP–Practice Stream gives primary care practices greater flexibility to address local health needs and service gaps, particularly for older people and those with chronic or complex conditions. It complements and strengthens existing services rather than replacing them.
